Meeting with New York Antiquities Trafficking Unit and US Department of State

On 12 December 2022, in New York, a delegation from the NATO SP COE, composed by Col. (ITA Carabinieri) Giuseppe De Magistris, Director, Lt Col (CZE Army) Martin Jilka, Training and Development Section Chief, and Maj (ITA Carabinieri) Adriano Castellari, Civil-Military Interaction & Gender Focal Point, met Col. US (ret.) Matthew Bogdanos, Assistant District Attorney, NYC and Antiquities Trafficking Unit Chief and Mr. Steve Epstein Cultural Property Protection Subject Matter Expert of the US Department of State.

During the meeting, in addition to discussing the Battlefield Evidence Institutional Level courses carried out, under the aegis of NATO and thanks to the support of the US Department of State, Counterterrorism, during 2022 in Vicenza, the inclusion of the subject matter “Cultural Property Protection”, as a means to prevent terrorism financing, in the future common activities has taken into consideration.
