Col. Arend te Velde
Col. Arend te Velde started at the Royal Marechaussee in 1982. Starting as a NCO he was assigned to several operational positions. After attending several studies, he started his officer’s career. His military career includes several national and international assignments.
After being assigned as head of a personal section and having a leading role in the reorganization of the Royal Marechaussee training center he was assigned as head of a policy department at the Staff of the Royal Marechaussee. Furthermore, he was assigned as responsible commander for personal on missions and double headed as special Staff officer and advisor for missions. Following this assignment, he was appointed deputy regional commander of the District North/East of the Marechaussee followed by taking command of this region until the 1st of January 2015. At this date he was assigned to his current position as Chief of Staff of the Centre of excellence Stability policing in Vicenza, Italy.
During his career, he also was assigned as head of the Visa department at the Dutch embassy in Poland. He served in the operations in Egypt (MFO), Bosnia and Herzegovina (SFOR), Kosovo (KFOR) and Afghanistan (ISAF).
Col. Arend te Velde is married with Annemarie te Velde. They have four children.
